Traveling to a Dock Diving Competition
Amy was turning 60 and wanted to plan an epic vacation. She considered traveling to Fiji or some other exotic location, but her heart was with her Labrador Retriever, Lucy, an award-winning Dock Diving competitor. She decided that she wanted to travel with Lucy from their home in Kansas to Bakersfield, California so Lucy could participate in a Dock Diving competition.
“Lucy is the queen of adventure, and the club is so joyful and fun. The theme of the competition was The Dogfather, like gangsters, and I was looking forward to doing it up big! But I needed to figure out our transportation,” Amy said.
She decided to charter a luxury motorcoach so she and Lucy could travel in comfort and style.
“I researched three firms and Jim from LiTRV got back to me immediately with a suggested itinerary. That really impressed me, and I appreciated that Jim was genuinely interested in learning about Lucy and her Dock Diving competitions.”
Amy said she was grateful that LiTRV’s driver, Randy, was behind the wheel, but she also felt he went “above and beyond” to make their trip comfortable.
“Randy is an angel on earth. I now consider him a friend, and I am still texting him photos of Lucy,” she said. “A driver can make or break a trip, and Randy was so proactive in so many ways. He was always looking out for us, and he laughed at our corny jokes. He even helped us make the accent lights inside the motorcoach pink, because pink is Lucy’s color.”
When they arrived at the competition venue, there was limited parking, so Randy found a quiet, gated RV site nearby and set up the motorcoach so she and Lucy could enjoy their privacy.
“At first, I was nervous about being alone with Lucy, but Randy assured me that he would let his family stay there and that he was nearby if I needed his help. It turned out to be perfect. Those were two of my favorite nights. I had a small yard, and Lucy and I watched the sunsets, and we went for walks every night. I had my own space with my girl to chill after very big days. I will never forget those moments with my dog,” she said.
A One-Way Trip: Moving Cross Country
Sandra M. needed to move from California to Pennsylvania. If it was just a matter of her moving by herself, she could easily ship her home contents and fly to her new home. But Sandra cared for two important family members: her petite mother, in her 80s, and her 70-pound pit bull, Koji. Flying was out of the question.
“I thought about driving, but I would be the one doing all the driving and it would be uncomfortable for Mom,” Sandra said.
She researched several motorcoach rental firms and decided to hire LiTRV.
“When Jim contacted me, he was so polite and friendly, I was relieved to find a firm I could count on,” she said. “I had been worried about how we were going to move across country, and Jim walked me through the entire process and answered all my questions. It was a huge weight that was lifted off my shoulders.”
Sandra was relieved that LiTRV arranged for a professional driver, Cory, and she credits him with helping them get “from Point A to Point B.”
“It was simple. Cory took care of everything,” she said. “He did a great job of mapping out our route, maintaining the RV, and he was so polite to my mom and sweet to Koji.”
Sandra said she especially liked the luxurious feel of the motorcoach. “We felt spoiled and pampered,” she said.
When they stopped for the night, Cory would stay in a hotel with the motorcoach parked nearby.
“We never felt unsafe,” Sandra said. “Cory always made sure we were okay, and we knew we could call him if we needed him.”
Celebrating a Birthday with a Vacation to the National Parks
Frank and Sherri G. were getting ready to celebrate milestone birthdays. They decided to charter a luxury motorcoach to visit the national parks and travel with their dog, Arlo, a 20-pound Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Because they had never traveled in any type of RV before, Frank and Sherri leaned on LiTRV to help assess which type of luxury motorcoach would be best for their trip. LiTRV’s concierge specialist, Mandy, also worked with them to customize their itinerary.
Frank said the vacation on a luxury motorcoach to so many beautiful destinations exceeded their expectations.
“The parks were beautiful…they were all unique. Everything was new and fresh,” he said. “Prior to this trip, Sherri’s favorite vacation was to Africa, where we spent three weeks on safari. When we came home, she said that this trip to the national parks may be her favorite vacation. She really loved it.”
Frank credits LiTRV with going above and beyond to make their vacation memorable, and he was especially complimentary of their driver, Randy.
“Randy was absolutely fantastic…he became a member of our family,” Frank said. “He always had a smile on his face, and nothing was too much for him.”
A dog lover himself, Randy and Arlo became fast friends.
“Arlo is 2 ½ years old, but he still has a lot of puppy energy,” Frank said. “Randy was wonderful with him. Normally, I would look over my shoulder, but I never had to do that with Randy. He genuinely cared for Arlo without making it feel like it was a job.”
Frank said Arlo was also very comfortable on the motorcoach and he spent a lot of time cuddled up on the couch. “It was very comfortable. As far as amenities go, we had everything we could ask for,” he said.
